We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Mission Viejo California. In this role, you will be performing tasks related to account reconciliation, general ledger maintenance, and year-end closings. Your function will be pivotal within our finance team and will report directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and bank statements

• Ensuring all journal entries are recorded accurately and timely

• Overseeing the month-end close process

• Participating in year-end closing activities

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for data analysis and pivot table creation

• Maintaining and updating the General Ledger as necessary

• Providing contract coverage and support until the permanent candidate is identified

• Utilizing Sage Intacct software for financial management, although it's not a requirement

• Identifying and addressing discrepancies in financial reports and statements

• Assisting the CFO with other accounting tasks as needed.

Requirements • Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior accounting role.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation is a key requirement for this position.

• The ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations is essential.

• Candidates should have experience in conducting bank reconciliations.

• Extensive knowledge of general ledger operations is expected.

• Experience in handling and recording journal entries is necessary.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including usage of pivot tables, is required.

• Candidates must have experience in managing month-end close procedures.

• Experience in handling year-end closings is crucial.
