Job Summary

Responsible for performing intermediate level technical work and related activities associated with the planning, engineering, design, analysis, research, development, testing, construction, maintenance, and operation of Company equipment and facilities.

Job Description

  • Assist in performing inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic process instrumentation systems.

  • Assist in testing and calibrating / repairing the following: pneumatic and electronic transmitters, indicators, converters, switches, PA and telephone communication systems, alarm modules, electronic and pneumatic controllers, microprocessor based recorders, control relays, and PLC's.

  • Help to analyze, test, and repair solid state generator protection system, control system, and position indicator system.

  • Assist in Installing design changes on electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic instrumentation equipment involving wiring modifications, cable testing, wire terminations, print changes, and installation of piping, tubing and fittings.

  • Assist engineers and vendor technical representatives in data collection, troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting and testing of specialized complex equipment and systems.

  • Report errors, damaged, broken or out of specification equipment and any other abnormal conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education requirements are listed below: Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields plus 2 years of related utility industry work experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related utility industry work experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands -Varies by location or territory. In some locations or territories, technician must be able to:

1.Walk right ways of various terrain in adverse conditions to patrol distribution power lines to determine damage.

2.Carry and handle telescopic measuring sticks and switching sticks that weigh 11 pounds.

3.May be required to use a brush axe (approx. 6 pounds) or machete (approx. 2 pounds) to clear brush for walking and staking in survey work.

$29.06-36.32 USD
