Description:
The Sterile Processing Department Manager​ provides clinical and administrative leadership for sterile processing functions across inpatient and ambulatory sites. Responsible for 24-hour SPD operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and exceeding expectations of staff, patients, and physicians. Oversees daily reprocessing of medical equipment, financial management, staff development, and adherence to infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and standards (e.g., Joint Commission, AORN).
Develop and maintain a competent team through hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Manage operational and capital budgets, staff productivity, and third-party vendor relationships.
Monitor customer service satisfaction, address concerns, and foster collaboration with physicians.
Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement in care delivery and department operations.
Drive performance improvement, change management, and clinical outcomes.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Licensure: RN Indiana license or Surgical Tech certification required.
Experience: Minimum of two years SPD or operating room experience. Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
