Description:

Performs angiographic procedures including invasive cardiac or vascular treatments and examinations of a technical level consistent with optimal image quality, including a variety of technical and non-technical tasks. Also performs specialized radiographic procedures under sterile technique in order to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of patients. Prepares examination area, positions patients for procedures and operates complex radiographic equipment in accordance with established techniques and routines. Assists physicians as necessary by-passing materials, monitoring patient vital signs, taking exposures as directed and optimizing images for review.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

Education: Work requires the level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of two to three years of occupationally specific education beyond high school or an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or closely related field and six to twelve months of previous work related experience plus three months or less of on-the-job training and orientation.

Licensure: Certified with A.R.R.T. and or other related specialties. Indiana State Department of Health X-ray Machine Operator License. Current BLS and ACLS certification required.

Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical experience in a Diagnostic Imaging field required.

Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. This may include explaining clinical, technical and diagnostic procedures to patients and their families, comforting patients and their families, enforcing policies and regulations in difficult situations, or performing other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.

Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs.
