A Plant Breeding Research Intern opportunity is available with our client in Minot, ND. In this role you will participate in all aspects of the research center activities including planting, plot maintenance, data collection, harvesting and could travel to other locations to help on specific field related tasks. To be considered for this role you will be able to work Mon-Fri 8am- 5pm with some overtime and some weekends throughout the season.
Plant Breeding Research Intern Job Duties:
Participate in all aspects of the research center activities including planting, plot maintenance, data collection, harvesting and could travel to other locations to help on specific field related tasks.
The individual will be involved with field plot research, planting, plot establishment and maintenance, organizing and completing herbicide, fungicide and insecticide treatment, harvesting and analyzing samples and data collection.
A key component of the position will be the collection of high-quality data on specific traits being examined by the Company.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Individual wanting to learn more about field research trials related to crop hybrid cultivar development.
Farm background beneficial.
Individual must display a high degree of self-motivation, self-initiative and ability to work well with others.
Good communication and interpersonal skills along with strong computer aptitude are essential.
