Bid Managers are the leaders within our business for bidding large projects, projects with services (aka PowerPack) and projects with complexity in delivering, designing, or structuring. Our Bid Management team is a diverse team from a variety of backgrounds. We have come together to leverage our combined strength and skills to lead these bids with individuals from across the business. Bid Management is a role that builds commercial leadership and organizational skills, explores interpersonal skills, and provides exposure to all parts of the business and our leadership.

What will I be doing as a Bid Manager?

You will be responsible for guiding and driving a bid team to create a winning and executable solution, in partnership with our sales team. Your engagement spans the sales cycle, from lead qualification to contract signature and project handover.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Structuring system solutions, including collaborating with the sales team and extended bid teams to develop technical and commercial strategy, scope, execution model, construction partner identification/qualification (as required by deal structure) and pricing

  • Identification, evaluation, prioritization, and development of risk mitigation and opportunity identification strategies (performance, contractual, execution, etc.)

  • Preparing information and presenting during Leadership reviews

  • Leading a Bid Team consisting of individuals performing functions such as Application Engineering, Process Design, Sourcing, Contract Management, and others to ensure all elements of the offer are aligned with our strategic intent and Medium-Term Plan

  • Assisting the Sales team with client interaction and negotiation

  • Developing and nurturing relationships with key, cross-functional, internal stakeholders across the WTS business including Projects, Services and CMS

  • Working in a fast-paced environment during the bid cycle, based on the needs, and manage multiple deadlines and deliverables with your bid team

  • Analyzing and adjusting strategy based on new data/feedback

Qualifications

What are the requirements?

With a relevant and demonstrable track record in customer facing roles, influencing and negotiation solutions and structures along with excellent organizational skills, you will also need:

  • A winning attitude with a desire to lead and succeed personally and professionally

  • Substantial (8+ years) of experience in Business Development, Sales, Commercial, Project Management in the water treatment or similar industry and particularly:

  • Experience in structuring opportunities, including technical and commercial strategy

  • Experience in identification and mitigation of business risks

  • Extended scope structured projects, including multi contract forms and construction partner management

  • Long term services and services support

  • Bachelor's degree in technical/financial/contract management discipline or similar

  • Fluency in English is essential (both written and verbal) with additional language skills a bonus

  • Clear, concise, contextual communication and presentation skills are required

  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000
