The continuous growth and success of our organization has led to this search for an Associate Director Business Development, Optum Pharmacies to join our Sourcing and Trade Relations Business Development team. The successful candidate will be involved in pipeline analytics, business development with new and single asset biopharmaceutical manufacturers, RFI/RFP responses, capabilities presentations, and account management by developing relationships, securing access to limited distribution drugs, contracting, and implementing new programs with these manufacturers for Optum pharmacies. Primary Responsibilities:
Connect and build relationships with biopharmaceutical manufacturers developing new specialty medications
Utilize pipeline tracking and tools to identify target drugs for access by Optum pharmacies
Create opportunities to sell Optum pharmacy capabilities to biopharmaceutical manufacturers
Collaborate with members of Trade Relations, Clinical, Operational and Leadership teams to coordinate target drugs, operational changes, and RFI/RFP submissions within specified timelines
Collaborate with marketing team to ensure capabilities presentations are up-to-date and customized for target audience
Attend industry conferences to network with target biopharmaceutical manufacturers and represent Optum pharmacies
Own the process of accessing specialty medications from the development phase through to contracting

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of professional work experience in the specialty pharmacy environment or with a biopharmaceutical manufacturer, ideally in field sales or national account management
Experience understanding the clinical aspects of target diseases and drugs and managing a sales pipeline
Experience working under tight deadlines
Biopharmaceutical manufacturer relationship management experience and network relationship skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
Proven individual contributor in business development sales relationship generating leads
Proven advanced interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others both internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience accessing and interpreting customer needs and requirements
Experience presenting to pharmaceutical executives
Experience commercializing pharmaceutical products, specifically in oncology, immunology, neurology, and respiratory
Sales experience - generating leads, developing opportunities, and closing deals
Willingness to travel nationally when required

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
