United States Steel Process Coordinator - Operations in Minnesota

United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Process Coordinator - Work Management Excellence for our Minnesota Ore Operations organization that includes two open pit mines and processing facilities in Northern MN (Minntac in Mt. Iron and Keetac in Keewatin). This position reports directly to the Area Manager of Maintenance Excellence. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the Work Management Process at Minnesota Ore Operations.
The candidate will indirectly oversee the planning departments throughout the 2 facilities and own the Work Management KPIs.
Assist with outage and long range planning throughout the facilities.
The candidate will work with teams on work identification, work planning and scheduling, kitting, job roles and responsibilities, and work closeout.
The candidate must be willing to utilize concepts such as CMMS, preventive/predictive maintenance, Microsoft Project, and other maintenance planning tools to assure success of the program.
The candidate will be responsible for being involved in long term goal setting and department vision within the RCM program.
This position is also responsible for administering the U. S. Steel Safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the assigned facility.
REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or technical college degree plus two or more years of supervisory experience in a production environment, however, candidates with related education and experience that is transferable are encouraged to apply.
In addition, the successful candidate must be independent and have the ability to make sound operating and mechanical decisions with little input from other managers.
All successful candidates are subject to background checks, pre-employment physical examinations, and drug and alcohol screening.
This is a safety sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
The preferred candidate will be knowledgeable in mechanical maintenance of equipment used in the taconite mining process as well as have a strong mechanical background relating to repair of heavy industrial equipment.
The preferred candidate will have experience is work planning and scheduling.
