TECHNOLOGY & WEALTH MANAGEMENT (WM) OPERATIONS LEADER

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The ideal candidate for the Technology and WM Operations Leader role will be a seasoned technology professional with a deep understanding of both technology operations and the intricacies of wealth management. We are seeking dynamic leaders with a blend of technology expertise and domain knowledge to lead our organization. Ideal candidates will possess extensive experience in Wealth-Tech coupled with a deep understanding of the financial services industry. They will demonstrate proficiency in leading teams (including partners teams), driving innovation, and aligning technology initiatives with strategic business objectives. They will possess strong leadership abilities, strategic thinking skills, and effective communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and drive transformative change within our organization. What you will do

  • Directs, manages, and maintains data processing and systems, ensuring work quality and output accuracy; oversees system projects to achieve target dates, quality, and budget goals.

  • Ensures all assigned system tasks are completed within set deadlines and budgets, ensuring work quality, system maintainability, and comprehensive business functionality understanding.

  • Collects system requirements, techniques, and controls from relevant departments to identify issues and provide efficient, cost-effective solutions.

  • Leads and manages staff, addressing inquiries and directing project management to fulfill project objectives.

  • Applies IS project methodology standards, overseeing the process to secure project success.

  • Undertakes special projects at senior management's request, ensuring compliance with Bank security, quality standards, and objectives; reports project progress to senior management.

  • Contributes to Information Systems strategic planning, ensuring alignment with business and technical teams for all bank projects.

  • Collaborates with other IS managers to coordinate system activities.

  • Engages in vendor assessments, endorses and evaluates functional and overall system designs, and technical planning to enhance system productivity and efficiency.

  • Organizes, develops, and manages assigned organizational and budgetary functions.

  • Represents the Bank in external civic and community events, professional organizations, and industry activities.

  • Builds and sustains excellent colleague relationships to integrate processes and achieve expected customer service standards.

  • Facilitates the creation and implementation of strategies to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years management experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Information Services/Technology

Skills and Knowledge

  • Extensive Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on technology leadership and domain expertise in areas such as wealth management.

  • Technology Expertise: Proficiency in relevant technology domains, including apps management, cloud technologies, data engineering, analytics, fintech solutions, and great to have emerging technologies experience such as AI, machine learning, blockchain, and virtual reality.

  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the specific domains within the financial services industry, including wealth management, securities trading, trust solutions, data management, and private banking. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, compliance standards, and market trends is essential.

  • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in leading cross-functional teams, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Proven track record of strategic thinking, resource optimization, and delivering impactful results.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong presentation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, business partners, and internal stakeholders.

  • Strategic Vision: Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market trends, identify opportunities for innovation, and develop technology strategies that align with business goals. Experience in driving transformative change based on value and outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the organization.

  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, finance, business administration, or a related field. Additional certifications or specialized training in relevant technology domains and financial services industry would be advantageous.

  • Track Record of Success: Proven track record of success in previous leadership roles, with tangible achievements in driving technology initiatives, delivering business value, and enhancing client satisfaction within the financial services industry.

  • Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and emerging technologies. Resilience in overcoming challenges and navigating complex organizational landscapes is essential.

  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in the financial services and technology sectors.

  • Proficiency in Wealth Ops IT Platform management, including custodian, administration, integration architecture, and data operations.

  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and implementing scalable solutions in a hybrid cloud environment.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance requirements in the financial industry.

  • Domain Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of wealth management operations, including account management, portfolio management, trade processing, and client reporting.

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards specific to wealth management and financial advisory services.

  • Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools used in wealth management operations, such as portfolio management systems and trading platforms.

  • Leadership and Operational Skills: Strong leadership abilities, capable of leading a team of technology professionals and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Proven ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement strategic solutions to optimize technology operations and enhance client service delivery.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and resolve them in a timely manner.

  • Effective communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and building strong relationships across the organization.

  • The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technology expertise and domain knowledge to the role, ensuring they can effectively manage technology operations within the unique context of wealth management.

Compensation

Starting base salary: $122,535 - $208,715 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
