We are seeking a Systems Engineer with a strong, demonstrated background in IoT, Software, Systems and Data to join our team. As part of our team, you will sit at the nexus of Connected Systems and Autonomy. You will contribute significantly to the delivery of our award-winning products & services around the world, collaborating with our teams to drive new sources of data-driven value creation for Tennant Company and our customers. Responsibilities Lead the design and validation of Tennant's Connected platforms & Software systems to ensure they meet all specifications and requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software systems with hardware and other applications. Develop and execute test plans for system validation, ensuring that all tests are well-documented, and results are analyzed for continuous improvement. Provide technical expertise in the troubleshooting and resolution of End-to-End System issues. Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the company. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices within the engineering team. Work closely with the product managers, architects, developers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into well-designed, implemented, and documented solutions. Provide mechanical and system prototyping support for cross-functional teams. Lead and maintain advanced laboratory space. Manage space, equipment, and prototype parts. Required Education and Experience BS in Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of experience. Good understanding of cloud-based platforms (Azure or AWS), Proven track-record of technical leadership in electrical architecture design and implementation. Knowledge of key IOT services in Cloud platforms, designing and conducting system validation Experience with Customer facing Web Application and Web Services validation Experience with Virtual Machines and Servers, on-premises or in the Cloud Experience with systems integration, including harnessing, connectors, cable routing, mechanical protection (sleeving), and electrical protection (fuses, circuit breakers) Experience with requirements management tools (Enterprise Architect), defect tracking tools (JIRA) and SCM tools (Subversion and Git) Applicants must be authorized to work legally in the United States in order to be considered for employment with Tennant. Tennant is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for this position Preferred Experience Experience with API testing and familiarity with tools such as Postman Experience with SQL Servers, writing SQL queries for data manipulation and solution validation Experience with test management tools such as Qase or Test Rails Experience with system integration automation Required Interpersonal Skills Ability to combine complex technical information with business conditions into a coherent picture and present it to team members, internal and external stakeholders Ability to build consensus and influence others through strong leadership/communication skills. Ability to systematically and methodically solve tough technical and team challenges Ability to build and reinforce team culture, effectively drive change and adoption of new practices Willingness to dive into tough problems and take ownership for designing/implementing solutions Willingness to continuously improve self, products, and team.
