Job Description

Our Stationary Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all stationary equipment within the airport facilities. This includes conducting regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and performing both routine and emergency repairs on various equipment such as conveyor belts, escalators, and HVAC systems. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of these systems to support airport operations. You must also keep accurate records of maintenance activities and collaborate closely with the maintenance team to coordinate larger repair projects.

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A STATIONARY EQUIPMENT TECH

· You like working as a team, toward a common goal

· Perform routine inspections and maintenance on stationary equipment, including baggage handling systems, conveyor belts, HVAC systems, and other critical airport equipment

· Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, identifying and repairing mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues promptly

· Collaborate with the Stationary Equipment Supervisor to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely, adhering to maintenance schedules and protocols

· Utilize a variety of tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments to assess and repair equipment components and systems

· Follow established safety procedures and protocols when working on equipment, including lockout/tagout procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

· Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, documenting repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance tasks

· You have a great attention to detail

· You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks

· Strong customer service skills

· Like to build long term relationships with your customers

· Physical activity may include:

· Stand and walk for extended periods of time

· Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

· Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

· Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Qualifications

· Minimum age of 18 years old

· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

· Minimum of 2 years' experience in equipment maintenance and repair

· Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

· Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments

· Availability for shifts that include nights, weekends, and holidays

· Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets

· Ability to pass a drug screen

· Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
