Job Description: Ryan Companies has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant, Construction to join our team in Minneapolis! The Construction Accountant provides job costing, time tracking, subcontractor prequalification, and project property support. This role reports to the Director, Construction Accounting and collaborates and partners with team members across the organization. This position requires 4 days per week in the office, with 1 day of remote work each week. Some things you can expect to do: Prepare and review contract schedules Daily subcontractor ACH payments Collaborate with internal legal on boding and insurance Perform job properties review to ensure accuracy Perform project creation, project close and compliance review tasks Month end close including journal entries, account reconciliations and management reporting Preparation of job cost journal entries Assist with quarter end reconciliations and reporting Assist with year-end audit related tasks Implement process improvements across our overall construction accounting team and work directly with operational teams Work with the construction teams to respond to audit confirmations and customer credit reference inquiries Assist in ad-hoc reporting and projects as needed Provide backup support to cash receipts Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or business related field of study. 2+ years of experience in accounting. Knowledge of data processing capabilities and procedures. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel. You will really stand out if you: Have construction knowledge and experience with Enterprise systems (SAP, JD Edwards, etc.) preferred. Have an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Have excellent customer service skills. Can work effectively in a team environment. Exemplify the ability to analyze, problem solve and adapt to advancing technology. Exemplify the ability to communicate professionally, proactively and strategically while working with competing priorities. Eligibility: Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S. Compensation: The annual base pay is $64,800 - $80,950. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
