Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description We are seeking a committed and experienced Sr. Accountant to join our non-profit organization located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role involves handling grant accounting and administration, budgeting and forecasting, and process creation and improvement. The Sr. Accountant will report to the Regional Controller and will be an essential part of our financial team.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of federal grant accounting, administration, and management

• Work with the MS Great Plains Accounting and Dynamics systems for financial management

• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes

• Engage in process creation and improvement initiatives to optimize financial operations

• Ensure compliance with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) guidelines in financial management

• Collaborate with the Regional Controller and other team members on financial matters

• Assist in maintaining the financial structure of a large sub-grant

• Monitor and report on financial indicators and trends

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar

• Demonstrated proficiency in Federal Grant, Grant Accounting, Grant Administration, and Grant Management

• Experience with Post-grant activities is a must

• Proficiency in MS Great Plains Accounting and MS Great Plains Dynamics is required

• Must have experience in Budgeting and Forecasting within a non-profit setting

• Knowledge of NFPA regulations and standards is essential

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials are preferred

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Experience with non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
