Position Summary This position is within our expanding specialty pharmacy located in Minneapolis. A typical day at Children's Specialty Pharmacy involves patient care delivered both via phone and in person. Responsibilities are divided between a retail setting and an office environment, with duties focusing on managing and documenting care for specialty patients each day. The Pharmacy Specialty Technician assists registered pharmacists by supporting activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. The technician is also responsible for collecting and inputting new and refill prescriptions as well as patient information. Proficiency in multi-tasking and performing repetitive tasks accurately is essential. Additionally, the Pharmacy Specialty Technician supports other pharmacy technicians by providing coverage when needed, delivering hands-on training, and mentoring in areas of expertise. This role requires the ability to identify and recommend improvements for process flow and address any deficiencies. Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, no weekends. License/Certification/Registration required? Yes Active technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy OR active registration as a pharmacy intern in the state of MN with active enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy is required. For newly registered technicians/registered interns without Tech 240 certification, you will need to complete 240 hours of theoretical and practical training on-site within twelve months of hire. Certified as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) is required prior to moving into Tier II. Active registration as a pharmacy intern in the state of MN with active enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy may be accepted in leu of CPhT certification. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs. In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weeken or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
