The person in this role may work remotely within the US or onsite at a US-based Medtronic facility.
The Global Functions IT team is seeking a Senior Principal IT Technical Analyst specializing in the Order to Cash (OTC) process. In this role, you will employ your deep expertise in SAP S/4 HANA, SAP SD (Sales & Distribution), Intercompany Product Movement, Transfer Pricing, and Product Costing within the Life Sciences or Medical Device industry. You will showcase your strong background in SAP S/4 HANA implementations, particularly in global environments with complex supply chains. You will partner with business stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize SAP solutions tailored to the unique needs of life sciences and medical device companies, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and accuracy in global operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with a team of SAP consultants, analysts, and developers, as well as collaborating with other stakeholders, vendors, and customers.

Develops, documents, and configures systems specifications that conform to defined architecture standards, address business requirements, and processes.
Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting hardware and software compliance and security standards.
Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements and characteristics of overall system.
Establishes and documents system design, parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems functionality, performance and compatibility, and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of configurations, such as existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.
Actively identifies system functionality or performance deficiencies, executes changes to existing systems, and tests functionality of the system to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, data integrity, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
May document testing and maintenance of system updates, modifications, and configurations.
May act as a liaison with key technology vendor technologists or other business functions.
Function Specific: Strategically design technology solutions that meets the needs and goals of the company and its customers/users.
Leverages platform process expertise to assess if existing standard platform functionality will solve a business problem or customization solution would be required.
Gather and prioritize integration requirements.
Test the quality of a product and its ability to perform a task or solve problems.
Perform basic maintenance and performance optimization procedures in each of the primary operating systems.
ORDER TO CASH (OTC) PROCESS EXPERTISE
Lead the design and implementation of SAP S/4 HANA solutions across the full OTC cycle, focusing on key processes such as sales order management, pricing, billing, delivery, and customer invoicing.
Develop and implement global best practices for OTC in alignment with life sciences/medical device industry standards, ensuring regulatory compliance.
SALES & DISTRIBUTION (SD) MODULE
Configure and optimize the SAP SD module to support complex sales and distribution scenarios, including order processing, shipping, and billing.
Implement advanced pricing strategies and manage pricing conditions, ensuring accurate revenue recognition.
INTERCOMPANY PRODUCT MOVEMENT
Design and manage intercompany product movement processes, ensuring accurate documentation, inventory management, and financial reconciliation across multiple legal entities.
Collaborate with global teams to ensure compliance with trade regulations, tax requirements, and financial reporting standards.
TRANSFER PRICING & COMPLIANCE
Implement transfer pricing strategies within SAP, ensuring adherence to global tax regulations and compliance with industry-specific standards.
Work closely with finance and tax teams to ensure accurate calculation, reporting, and auditing of transfer pricing transactions.
PRODUCT COSTING
Implement transfer pricing strategies within SAP, ensuring adherence to global tax regulations and compliance with industry-specific standards.
Work closely with finance and tax teams to ensure accurate calculation, reporting, and auditing of transfer pricing transactions.
GLOBAL IMPLEMENTATION
Lead and manage SAP S/4 HANA implementation projects in a global context, working with cross-functional teams across different regions and business units.
Ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, and optimized for the complex, regulated environment of life sciences or medical device companies.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
Collaborate with business stakeholders, including sales, finance, supply chain, and compliance teams, to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Communicate project progress, technical solutions, and key decisions to senior leadership and stakeholders across regions.
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience
OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience or advanced degree and 8+ years of experience
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
Strongly Preferred:
Previous Medtronic experience
10+ years of experience with SAP, including 5+ years focused on SAP S/4 HANA implementations in global, regulated industries such as Life Sciences or Medical Devices
Strong expertise in the Order to Cash (OTC) process, including Sales & Distribution (SD), intercompany product movement, transfer pricing, and product costing.
Proven experience in leading at least 2 full life cycle SAP S/4 HANA implementations in a multi-entity, global context.
Familiarity with the regulatory and compliance requirements of the life sciences or medical device industries, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other industry-specific guidelines.
Experience in managing global projects in a highly regulated environment with complex intercompany and pricing structures.
Proficiency in configuring SAP S/4 HANA modules for OTC, SD, and finance-related processes.
Robust understanding of global trade, tax regulations, and financial implications of intercompany transactions.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional, international teams and effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
Experience in leading and managing a team of SAP professionals
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Certifications in one or more relevant SAP modules

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$141,600.00 - $212,400.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
