Please apply online using a laptop or desktop computer.POSITION SUMMARY:This position develops, designs, and administers the NMDP Oracle Application and database architecture and provides mentorship and guidance to other DBA staff. This includes design and architecture of supporting infrastructure solutions, development, and support of both standard and custom EBS modules and other Oracle Applications, support of databases and database servers in both production and development environments and being the primary liaison with business users to gather requirements and design effective solutions. This is a remote position (US). #LI-RemoteCheck out our video Saving Lives: It's the Best Job EverACCOUNTABILITIES:Oracle Applications support, design, and administration :Leads efforts related to Oracle Applications, including analysis of requirements, design, evaluation, testing, procurement, and implementation in conjunction with development teams, and architects to find the best solutions for service, cost effectiveness and efficient implementation of changes, upgrades, enhancements, or recent technologies related to Oracle Applications.Provides guidance, direction and mentorship in Oracle Applications and Oracle Databases to less senior DBAs and assists them with complex database tasks.Interacts with development staff to ensure schema and code design not only follows best practices and NMDP standards, but also performs well.Maintains communications and provides optimal customer service with internal, remote, and external customers and vendors to research, define, test, and develop enhancements, modifications or new system features as needed.Performs research, testing and implementation of both standard and custom Oracle Applications and Database upgrades and patches.Manage database server environments daily to ensure a smooth-running system, which includes processes such as adding and deleting users, ensuring proper backups, verifying system integrity.Performs tuning of database and application modules for performance.Performs Oracle Database and EBS Application Tier clones from production to various lower environments.Provides on-call support on a rotating basis for production system emergencies.Database Security:Plans, configures, implements, and maintains all database servers and EBS Application security consistent with the NMDP Security Policies.Architects' security policy for DB and Oracle Applications to conform to enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.Designs and implements auditing policies to track access.Disaster Recovery:Architects and documents disaster recovery procedures for Oracle Applications services and supporting databases.Plans and develop proper disaster recovery and configuration scripts, documentation, and methods for testing recovery procedures at the NMDP hot-site vendor.Develops high-availability architecture for Oracle Applications to reduce maintenance downtime and local-scale outages.Writes methods for improving recovery plans, scripts, and systems documentation.Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of:Firm understanding of business processes and basic cost and financial accounting.Expertise in the functional and internal mechanisms of Oracle Applications.Understanding of supporting technologies, including but not limited to Java, JDeveloper, J2EE, Apache, Oracle Internet Application Server, and APEX.Ability to:Demonstrate superior written and oral communication.Demonstrate strong analytical and creative critical thinking skills.Manage multiple rapidly changing priorities.Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills; demonstrated success in working within both an independent and team environment.Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in business administration, management information systems, or related field. However, upon evaluation, equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for the degree requirement.Five or more years' expe ience as an Oracle Applications Database Administrator in a development environment.Must have demonstrated experience designing, configuring, patching, and supporting Oracle Applications, including E-Business SuiteMust have experience with the development of custom modules for EBS and Oracle Application upgradesMust have a working knowledge of Linux and core Oracle databases as well as OBIEE, Hyperion, Essbase, and UPK.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)Prefer candidates with exposure to online patching, MOAC, Advanced Partitioning, and WebLogic.
