Apply for Job Job ID365953 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyResearch Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9791LS Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job About the Job Responsibilities: 100% Stem Cell Research related work including * Prepare and conduct Stem Cell research studies from theory to completion related to brain injuries such as stroke and traumatic brain injury * Conduct animal studies related to these conditions such as induction of traumatic brain injury or stroke, behavioral studies related to these injuries * Conduct histological studies, data collection and interpretation by utilizing histology, microcopy and other imaging techniques to document an analyze cell phenotypes. * Maintain laboratory and logistical support related to these studies such as IACUC and IRB submissions and drafting research papers and grants including presentation of research studies. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Advanced degree including a MD, PhD or Masters in relevant field (biology, biotechnology, clinical technology and similar fields) and one or more years of research training. * Experience in conducting research studies which involves analyzing cell culture, involving maintenance and propagation of several independent cell lines and sub-clones simultaneously. * Experience in with animal studies * Experience in design, evaluation, and implementation of prototype and scale-up of manufacturing, and quality control processes. * Experience in microscopy techniques such as confocal microscopy, image acquisition, and data analysis as required. * Experience in developing and performing assays for flow cytometry, cell staining, histology. * Experience in developing standard operating procedures (SOP), maintaining and revising molecular protocols as needed. * Experience in researching for suitable grants and grant writing. * Experience of laboratory record keeping. Preferred Qualifications: * Competence with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel or Prism, R, SQL, Python, Photoshop. * Competence in lab automation/robotics. * Previous experience in the biotechnology industry will be highly valued. * Previous experience in resolving technical and workflow issues in a timely fashion.
