Design SOPs for onboarding and training for use by other supervisors in Neurology. Forecast staffing needs; hire and/or reallocate effort accordingly. 75% Biorepository Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the biorepository, including the receipt, processing, storage, and distribution of biological specimens (e.g., blood, tissue, CSF). - Sample Tracking and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all specimens, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and data entry into the biorepository database. Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the integrity and reliability of stored specimens. Perform regular audits and inventory checks. - Compliance: Ensure compliance with all institutional, state, and federal regulations regarding biospecimen handling, storage, and documentation. Stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes. - Reporting: Generate reports on biorepository activities, including specimen inventory, usage, and quality control measures. Present findings to stakeholders as required. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance biorepository efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications Required Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field and 5 years of clinical research coordination, or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal nine (9) years. -Project management experience. Preferred Qualifications: -Experience: 10 years of clinical research coordination, supervisory experience. -Experience in memory care research or a medical research environment is a plus. -Strong organizational and multitasking skills. -Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. -Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and database management. -Knowledge of biospecimen handling and storage best practices. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team. About the Department The Grossman Center is looking for a Research Professional 4 to join our growing research team and initiatives. Bud Grossman Center for Memory Research and Care in the Department of Neurology is dedicated to advancing world-class memory research to improve quality of life. We are seeking an experienced research coordinator to direct our expanding clinical research team and oversee our newly established biorepository. The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight of the Grossman Center clinical research coordinators, and managing enrollment, collection, processing, storage, and distribution of biological specimens to support our research initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring the enrollment of memory care patients into the biorepository, facilitating groundbreaking research, and contributing to the advancement of science.
