Summary
The Reality Capture Coordinator is responsible for leveraging advanced reality capture and BIM (Building Information Modeling) technologies to support the BIM/VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) team in achieving business objectives. This role focuses on performing and delivering accurate and timely reality capture services, including photographic documentation, 3D laser scanning, thermal imaging, drone operations, and point cloud data processing. The Reality Capture Coordinator collaborates with internal teams to integrate captured data into project workflows, ensuring seamless support for construction planning and execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations
Perform 3D laser scanning of physical facilities and process point cloud data to meet project needs.
Capture photographic documentation using drones, thermal scanners, 360-degree cameras, and other advanced tools.
Manage construction jobsite cameras, including installation, maintenance, monitoring, and ensuring proper documentation and data capture for project progress.
Notify the manager of any defects in hardware or software and coordinate with vendors for service requests.
Ensure the timely delivery of accurate scan data to internal customers.
Technology and Knowledge Maintenance:
Maintain intermediate to advanced knowledge of reality capture technologies, including 3D scanning, 360-degree photography, and supporting software packages.
Stay up to date with industry hardware and software certification requirements and emerging technologies.
Collaboration and Communication
Support internal teams by producing relevant content for client presentations, webinars, demonstrations, and seminars.
Effectively communicate findings and data insights through reports, documents, and visual presentations.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with pre-construction and project teams.
Documentation and Organization
Compile, organize, and maintain project documentation, including scan data, correspondence, and construction documents.
Interpret and work with construction documents and plans.
Organize and maintain file systems and records.
Process Improvement and Additional Contributions
Possess a thorough understanding of AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) workflows and how engineers, architects, MEP professionals, and contractors collaborate.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the BIM/VDC team’s processes and deliverables.
Perform other duties as assigned by team leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
2 year technical degree preferred
Functional knowledge of drone technology, 360 photography and scanning technologies,
Technical training on hardware and software
Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office 365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.
Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Four year degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related degree
Knowledge of ViewPoint software
Other:
Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
Travel up to 70% of the time, at various construction sites; plan and execute multiple projects daily
Must be able to work flexible hours, including overnight to meet the needs of the assignment

Position requires lifting and carrying moderately heavy equipment (40lbs+).
Climbing ladders and occasionally scanning crawl spaces and enclosed ceilings.
