Delta Air Lines is seeking an experienced IT Program Manager. The ideal candidate understands the relationship between technology and business functions while being highly analytical and focused, with keen insight into human behavior and motivational forces. We’re looking for someone to guide the implementation of multiple efforts in a hybrid-Agile environment, and the ideal candidate should have in-depth understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies. This position will be based in Minneapolis or Atlanta and requires minimal travel. It will be hybrid with specific mandatory days in the office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee multiple programs, ensuring program goals are reached while aligning project workstreams

  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within project teams, implementing solutions to keep projects on track

  • Communicate project status, updates and risks to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with organization goals

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to document project scope, deliverables, goals, risks, blockers, success measures, and estimated resources needed

  • Plans and leads status review meetings, which may include internal team members, vendors, and customers

  • Strategize, implement, and maintain project initiatives that adhere to project objectives

  • Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and leaders to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives

  • Manage program and project teams for optimal return-on-investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives

  • Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors

  • Conduct project evaluations and assessments, analyzing results and identifying areas of improvements

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or related field or related professional experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Project Management

  • Results oriented and able to drive issue resolution

  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex program issues to determine root cause

  • Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills

  • Must be self-motivated and able to function effectively working independently or in a team

  • Proven track record with relationship management, team building and motivational skills

  • Detail oriented, organized, and proactive

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles

  • Working knowledge of technology projects

  • Working knowledge of Agile practices, including, but not limited to SAFe is a plus

  • Understanding of Agile planning products, including ‘Agility (VersionOne)’ is a plus

  • Ability to travel domestically as needed

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Master’s degree in business administration or related field

  • Experience working in an airline technology environment

  • Certificate in Project Management (e.g. PMP) is a plus
