Position Summary The PNP - Neonatal Services provides assessments/creates a medical plan of care for hospitalized patients on admission, daily, and upon discharge. Perform these tasks independently and in collaboration with the neonatologist. Collect and synthesize data from historical information, diagnostic tests, therapeutic interventions, and physical examination to determine diagnosis and appropriate intervention. Work closely with NNPs, nursing staff and social workers as part of creating a comprehensive treatment plan for patients and their families during their hospital stay. Maintain clinical skill proficiency and knowledge base needed for this patient population; including but not limited to IV starts, Arterial sticks, PICC lines, and lumbar punctures. They may also be asked to consult on patients in the newborn nursery. * Licensed Registered Nurse and Advanced Pediatric Nurse License * Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - National Certification * Prescriptive Privileges - State of Minnesota * Current BLS Certification * NRP Certification Education: * Master's Degree in Nursing Required Experience: * Previous RN or PNP experience in Level ll nursery or working with infants with complex/chronic health care needs. * Minimum of 500 Clinical hours within last 3 years. Preferred Experience: * PNP acute care preferred or primary PNP with previous experience in Level II nursery or Level III/IV as a RN.
