Fairview Health Services Pharmacy Technician III - Compounding Pharmacy in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

Are you currently registered with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Technician? Do you have at least two years of experience as a pharmacy technician? We at MHealth Fairview are looking for you to join our team! This benefits (https://www.fairview.org/benefits/noncontract) eligible positions is a 1.0FTE (80 hours/2 weeks) on the day shift!

Under the direction of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician III is responsible for day-to-day comprehensive pharmacy technician services in the compounding pharmacy. This will include compounding medications using sterile aseptic technique, maintaining the ISO 7 buffer room, abiding by USP 797 regulations, and inventory management. Upon completion of training, technicians will be able to compound sterile hazardous drugs in a negative pressure buffer room. Additional responsibilities will include nonsterile compounding and dispensing of medications according to USP 795 and USP 800 standards, staging items to go into the buffer room, receiving stock and packing items for shipment. Technicians will be cross-trained and be competent in data entry, order processing and call center.

The Pharmacy Technician III will skillfully use interpersonal, customer service, problem solving and collaboration skills to support and influence operational objectives.

Responsibilities Job Description

Partner with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure pharmacy patients receive their prescriptions accurately, safely, in accordance with all legal requirements and policies and in a professional and timely manner.

Under the direction of the pharmacist, fulfill and prepare prescription orders for delivery in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all legal, regulatory agency and Fairview requirements.

Maintain appropriate stock levels of supplies to use within the buffer room on a daily basis

Qualifications

Required

Experience

Minimum of two-years pharmacy technician experience

Completion of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program

Compounding background (sterile or nonsterile)

License/Certification/Registration

Registered Technician with Minnesota Board of Pharmacy

Pharmacy certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

Preferred

Education

Graduate of Pharmacy Technician program

Experience

IV Sterile compounding background

License/Certification/Registration

Sterile Compounding Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
