We are in need of a diligent Litigation Paralegal to join our team located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will primarily be supporting case management for a specific lawsuit, as well as possibly assisting with other cases involving disability insurance benefits, business divorce, and estate planning. This is a part-time, remote contract role.

Responsibilities

• Support a specific lawsuit against national insurance companies and agents, from the start of the litigation process to discovery, trial, and post-trial procedures.

• Facilitate the organization and uploading of pertinent documents from OneDrive to Everlaw.

• Assist in drafting and e-filing of pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memorandums.

• Coordinate and manage the initial Service Process and prepare Initial Disclosures.

• Conduct legal and factual research, and prepare legal documents and summaries.

• Manage and organize case files and documentation, and maintain case timelines and calendars.

• Assist in trial preparation, including compiling trial notebooks and exhibits, coordinating with expert witnesses, and managing discovery processes.

• Support the deposition process.

• Coordinate with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel.

• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in handling and maintaining all client information.

• Provide assistance for other possible cases involving disability insurance benefits, business divorce, and estate planning.

Requirements

• Possession of a Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited institution.

• Proficient in litigation, with a strong understanding of the litigation process.

• Proven experience in a paralegal role, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department.

• Excellent research skills, with the ability to utilize legal databases and other resources.

• Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on producing clear, concise legal documents.

• Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to review large volumes of information and identify pertinent details.

• Proficient in the use of legal software, as well as standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
