It requires a PhD-prepared RN researcher with a strong background in qualitative research and experience conducting interviews. The role includes screening participants for eligibility, facilitating detailed interviews, and contributing to data analysis and manuscript preparation as part of a research team. The ideal candidate will work closely with team members, demonstrating flexibility and strong communication skills, especially when engaging with ICU nurses who may be discussing emotionally challenging patient situations. Key Responsibilities Conducting and Managing Interviews (55%) Contact interested participants to arrange a mutually agreeable time and method for the interview. Conduct 1 to 1.5 hour interviews with critical care nurse participants via recorded Zoom or phone conversations. Save and upload recorded interviews to a secure Box folder for storage. Screening and Facilitating Interviews (15%) Screen participants to confirm eligibility for the study. Facilitate interviews focusing on nurses relaying complex patient situations and describing their thought processes and actions. Documentation and Incentives (5%) Document participants as interviewed to facilitate sending incentive payments for participation. Team Engagement (5%) Attend and engage in research team meetings (every 2-4 weeks) to revise interview structure as needed. Provide input on recruitment strategies and contribute ideas for process improvements. Data Analysis and Write-Up (15%) Actively participate in transcript review and editing. Analyze data, including initial narrative summaries and temporal order analysis. Conduct dyad and team analysis of data collected in interviews. Manuscript Preparation (5%) Contribute to manuscript preparation for publication as negotiated among team members. Qualifications All required qualifications must be documented on application materials Required Qualifications: PhD-prepared RN researcher. Skills in conducting research interviews and qualitative data analysis. Experience with shared storage spaces (e.g., Box). Proficiency with virtual meeting technology (e.g., Zoom) and recording technology. Ability to work independently. Flexibility to accommodate participant and team schedules. Preferred Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills, especially in interacting with ICU nurses who may be discussing sensitive and emotionally difficult patient situations. Detail-oriented in the conduct and analysis of qualitative research. Experience with manuscript preparation and research publication.
