ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, EHS with industry experience to join our growing Sustainable Operations team. The ideal candidate will bring strong environmental, health, and safety regulatory compliance and at least 5 years of industry and/or consulting experience to help our clients proactively address their sustainability and EHS risks and challenges.As a senior leader, you will be responsible for supporting on a range of EHS management projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global technical team to share best practices across the industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level professional looking to advance their career with a global Sustainability leader, and work with a team of outstanding professionals in over 40 countries around the world.Role is open to any candidates in New England, the Northeast or the Midwest.RESPONSIBILITIES:Support development and implementation of EHS Management Systems, compliance assessments and audits to ensure effective risk control and regulatory compliance.Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.Perform EHS compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Develop, manage, and implement environmental management systems and programs for corporate clients.Manage and develop plans, permits, and procedures for air quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, and wastewater.Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business to grow the EHS team in the Mid-South.Provide on-site compliance support at client facilities.Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.Contribute to expanding ERMs EHS business. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.Design and direct corporate EHS strategies and programs and achieve clients expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire and mentor personnel for overall success of technical team.Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to Build a network within and outside of ERM that will enable you to leverage your skills and solve challenging multi-disciplinary client challenges.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering, environmental science, safety, business administration, or related discipline. Or the equivalency of 8 years related experience in lieu of education.At least 5 years (7 years preferred) relevant experience in working with organizations on EHS management, leadership/culture, and/or sustainable EHS compliance programs. Consulting experience a plus.Proficient in technical Safety; and/or, in technical Environmental areas such as but not limited to Stormwater Pollution Prevention, Spill Protection, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know, Air Quality.Experience maintaining corporate management standards (either as a consultant or an internal compliance officer).Experience in project management or delegation of authority through formal leadership position, along with budgeting and tracking of monetary requirements of a department or project life cycle.Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.Be passionate about EHS performance improvement and have substantial experience developing and delivering world-class EHS program solutions.Ability to work independently and in a team setting, with guidance and direction. Ability to be adaptable, deal with ambiguity, flexible to changing situations, able to think outside the box, and to identify and respond rapidly to safety issues in field locations.Excellent communic tion, interpersonal and analytical skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and the ability to communicate effectively.Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.Willingness to travel, both within the United States and to international locations in support of client programs. Up to 40% travel may be required.
