Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field Experience and knowledge in the fields of HIV/AIDS, Mental Health, Chemical Addiction and Homelessness required Ability to competently supervise employees and volunteers. Ability to accept supervision and work with a team of co-workers. Understand the delivery of Social Services and eligible benefits in relation to the above fields of knowledge. Must be willing to support the mission of The Salvation Army. Must pass background checks, have a valid driver's license and meet the MVR driver's qualification. It must be understood by the incumbent that the provisions of Safe From Harm will apply upon commencement of employment, and also understood that the required Safe From Harm training program must be satisfactorily completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Position Summary This position provides supervision to the Housing Case Manager Team Housing Support/GRH and Transitional Housing. The Lead Case Manager will facilitate cooperation between housing staff (managers and advocates) and County case workers and will maintain positive working relationships with partner housing service agencies. Additionally the Lead Case Manager will coordinate and implement a training curriculum for staff, including topics such as crisis response and cultural competency, establishing program goals, policies and procedures, statistics, program evaluation and quality improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. This would include but not be limited to such actions: resolution of conflicts in a positive manner; courteous treatment of staff, clients and visitors; respect of others' property and person, professional and appropriate communication to and about co-workers, supervisors and subordinates. Adhere to the guiding principles of The Salvation Army's social services ministries as outlined in Faith In Action with an emphasis on intentional outreach in the area of pastoral care to those we serve. Ensure all employee performance evaluations are completed annually. Perform a review of each new hire after 90 days. Coordinate all case management services and ensure all residents are receiving skilled case management as appropriate to their level of need. Facilitate weekly case manager meetings to discuss case plans and offer consultation and feedback and facilitate referrals to our partner housing service agencies. Assist COD, Program Director and Business Director in hiring new case managers. Provide new case manager orientation. Participate in office and department meetings, and other continuing educational seminars as appropriate; participate in community meetings and networking as requested by the COD and / or Program Director. Work with regulatory groups for adherence to program standards. Represent The Salvation Army in interagency councils and other community groups. Strategic Direction Advise Program Director n program changes as observed by population trends and need. Work with the Housing Program Director to develop, plan and provide training to case managers and housing staff. Verify and maintain the reporting of statistical information. General Assist with other departmental functions as requested (i.e. Disaster, special events, etc.). Other duties that are specified to the office as assigned by the Program Director. Manage and comply with all Government and program contracts. The duties and responsibilities of this position cannot be performed from home. Mental Activities and Requirements of Position Mathematics Ability Ability to perform basic math skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages. Ability to prepare budgets Language Ability Ability to fluently speak read and write in English. Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling and grammar. Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis; correct punctuation and variation in word order; using present, perfect, and future tenses. Reasoning Ability Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. Able to interpret various instructions.
