Main functions of the position include (but are not limited to): Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information; Handles correspondence from the clients, corresponds with clients regarding the status of applications, and develops and maintains good client relationships; Understands patent prosecution procedures and has knowledge of the U.S. and foreign Patent Office rules; Conducts searches and researches prior art; Handles IDSes; Assists Attorneys in drafting and reviewing patent and trademark applications for filing; Reviews communications from patent offices and works with internal Attorneys to prepare drafts of responses; Calculates estimates of filing costs; Handles and monitors the patent and trademark docket, and keeps it up-to-date in the internal document management system (ProLaw); Works closely with attorneys, other paralegals, central docketing, and other firm staff; Meets billing goals;
