This position reports to the HR Director and will assist with creating and implementing the HR best practices. Expected Salary: $52,000-$56,900 Responsibilities: 40% - Staffing/classification & compensation: Advise supervisors on recruitment and hiring procedures and best practices; work with hiring manager to determine appropriate job classification and recommend pay rate considering equity; edit job description as needed; draft offer letters; post open positions to online recruiting system; assist with reviewing applications and identifying qualified candidates, serve as point of contact for candidate questions about the position and the GPS Alliance; coordinate (and deliver HR portions of) onboarding and offboarding process; serve as primary employee benefits contact; assist supervisors on submission of reclassifications; assist with gathering and analyzing data necessary for retention and equity salary increases; assist in the review and implementation of the market refinement salary structure changes; assure compliance with Bargaining Unit contracts, Civil Service rules, student employment, P&A policies, and annual salary administration; work with International Student and Scholar Services to process visa applications for GPS Alliance staff 30% Employee/Labor Relations: First point of contact for staff and supervisors within the GPS Alliance for HR questions; provide policy information regarding layoff/non-renewal, overtime, FMLA, etc.; assist with annual performance appraisal administration; work with HR director to deliver training to employees related to HR best practices; escalate conflicts and diversity issues to HR director but continue to assist in resolution as necessary; provide Civil Service, Bargaining Unit, student employment, and P&A policy information as needed; keep up-to-date on employee rules, contracts & policies 20% - HRMS/Payroll and Records Management: Review and analyze payroll data and reports to ensure accuracy; verify and enter employment/payroll data into HRMS system from HRMS forms and other documents; actively track upcoming data changes to ensure completion; answer payroll questions and serve as a resource to supervisors and employees on payroll policies and procedures; provide training to supervisors and employees regarding payroll best practices and system processes; personnel records management; assist with tracking contractors located internationally and hired through third party vendor 10% Other - Attend necessary training related to HR and Payroll, prepare and manage HR reports, and work on HR special projects/committees as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources/related field or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years; experience with HRMS appointment and/or payroll experience; working knowledge of and experience with employee benefit programs; experience with staffing and recruiting with an eye toward DEI; customer service experience in an organization with customers from diverse backgrounds; experience handling confidential and time-sensitive materials; demonstrated strong organizational skills with ability to use good judgement in prioritizing multiple requests made by persons with competing interests.
