The OIT Human Resources team currently seeks an individual to provide general HR support and coordination. This includes functions within the areas of talent acquisition, employee onboarding, and employee relations among other activities. Ideal candidates will enjoy process and detailed-oriented work and will possess effective communication skills, a sense of urgency, professional decorum, and an unwavering ability to maintain confidentiality. You'll work in a hybrid environment sharing your time between remote work and being on campus. Job Responsibilities: Employee Onboarding (25%) Act as a point of contact for new hires and lead a high volume of HR on-boarding meetings involving I-9 verification, payroll, benefits, and other important information. Serve as a resource to hiring leaders with questions about the on-boarding process. Employee Relations (25%) Gain exposure to employee relations work, through support of probation fails, performance management, and progressive discipline. In partnership with OIT's HR Manager and HR Consultant, assist with additional employee relations matters as needed. HR Administrative Support (25%) Submit and monitor tickets to initiate the background checks, hires, terminations, pay updates and other employment changes for staff and student workers. Complete additional items for employees departing, including notifications related to system access, departure checklists, and HR information for the departing employee. Compile and complete documentation related to hires, terminations, and other employment changes and ensure proper record retention. Maintain OIT's organizational charts. Provide support to other HR functions such as performance evaluations and merit increases. Talent Acquisition (25%) Support our recruitment team by scheduling interviews and corresponding with applicants as needed. Support hiring leaders with a high volume of staffing activity related to student and temporary employment. Identify mechanisms for attracting University students to OIT's student employment opportunities. Network across various colleges to build a pipeline of students who are interested in student employment with OIT. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and/or related work experience to total four years. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and/or Google Docs and Google Sheets. Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and communication. Ability to facilitate difficult conversations and navigate complex policy and people-related dynamics. Ability to manage competing demands and a high volume of activity. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources/closely related field OR prior experience supporting the Human Resources function.
