As the Historic Preservation Architect, you will take a leadership role in the development and execution of a variety of high profile preservation projects that incorporate innovative design solutions to balance the complex challenges of historic structures with contemporary expectations for use and comfort. In this role you will: Lead specific preservation expertise on projects, which will include the following primary responsibilities: Perform condition assessments of building facades, enclosure systems and building interiors from suspended swing stages, scaffolding, and telescoping lifts. Direct probe openings and analyze failure modes. Evaluate barriers to accessibility and building code requirements Analyze and summarize assessment findings. Develop treatment recommendations and prepare reports for client and agency review. Develop architectural repair and construction documents for building enclosure restoration. Develop architectural design and construction documents for adaptive reuse and rehabilitation. In addition, you will also perform: Archival Research and writing for historic structures reports, conservation plans, condition assessments, and preservation master plans documents. Create measured drawings of existing conditions for base architectural plans. Assist with corporate marketing efforts and proposal responses. Mentor emerging professionals. You will need to have: A Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies or Structural Engineering and an advanced degree in Historic Preservation or a Masters of Architecture with a Historic Preservation focus. Registered Architect In MN 10-15 years of experience as a preservation architect conducting historic research, preparing surveys, and writing reports as well as preparing contract documents for architectural preservation, historic structures, facility analyses, and building science and technology. Additional skills that will make you stand out: Ability to communicate with clients, consultants, contractors and co-workers effectively and professionally at all times, graphically, verbally and in written documents. Self-starter, as well as a flexible, collaborative team player, willing to take on all assignments, including new construction projects. Knowledge of preservation techniques and policies Knowledge of historic construction techniques and styles Knowledge of material repair and restoration techniques Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit programs and Microsoft Office Basic graphic presentation skills for preparation of reports and marketing materials Creative writing skills for the preparation of historic reports and marketing materials. Strong architectural design and construction documentation. General knowledge of architectural industry and project delivery. Salary Information: The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licen ure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs.
