Overview The Editor is responsible for the bringing our content strategy to life by translating the strategy into real-life content ideas, series, features, editorial pieces and more. This includes the concepting, development, editing and production/publication support for of a variety of digital media content, including website articles, recipes, blog posts, social media posts and videos. A core element of this role is to ensure the voice and tone of the brand is distinctive, authentic, and compelling. Successful candidates will have a portfolio of content - ideally much of it in the food and recipe space - along with a strong understanding of consumer needs, motivations, and trends. This position is remote eligible, though the preferred location for this opportunity is in Minneapolis, MN. Key Accountabilities Content Development and Editing: Guide the development and creation of high-quality, engaging, and informative content that aligns with the brand's goals and target audience. Leverage data and insights to create and manage the overarching editorial calendar to ensure there is always something fresh, new and interesting available to our consumers. Partner with social media, email, SEO and commerce leads to develop content that will drive growth across channels. Ideate, assign, write and edit original content daily covering food, cooking, food news, trends and more. Recruit and oversee the network of vendors/contributors/freelancers who concept, create, and produce content to deliver on the content strategy and calendar. Review, edit and refine content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial standards - including voice and tone. Collaborate with the publishing team to ensure content comes alive in a compelling and visually appealing manner across channels (.com, social, email, etc.) Content Management: Maintain a strong understanding of the brand's library of content and the relative performance and importance of different content pieces and types. Ensure that content is organized, easy to find, and accessible to users, implementing effective content management activities to optimize user experience and engagement. Monitor the brand's digital media channels, including websites, email and social media channels to ensure the content is coming to life as intended. Analytics and Reporting: Analyze website traffic, social media engagement and other performance metrics to measure the success and impact of content. Monitor competitive brands and publishers taking appropriate actions to maintain a leadership position. Share and utilize content performance insights to strengthen strategies, plans and future content development. Qualifications and skills: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Public Relations 5+ years of editorial experience, including content creation for consumer brands/publications and the food/culinary space. Strong understanding of online engagement tactics and metrics Curious, trend watcher (and maker) Influential verbal and written communicator with strong attention to detail and accuracy Skilled project and process manager Experience working with and managing content creators and managing a budget. Preferred experience: Professional culinary background and/or recipe testing and development Analyzing web metrics and data, using tools like Google Analytics and Looker Concepts, writing, editing and executing major features, content series and editorial packages Keyword research and search-engine optimization, using tools like SEMrush and Google Trends Food blogging or on-screen video Production oversight of food photography and food styling Enterprise content management systems Salary Range The salary range for this position is $91900.00 - $153300.00 / Annually.
