Overview: The Financial Analysis is responsible for producing ad hoc financial and operational models to support management in decision making. You will be a critical member of the team that will partner with Inovalon's business leaders to provide insights. This is a blended role, with both Accounting and FP&A duties. This role will have ownership of the accounting, forecasting and annual budgeting cycle for assigned areas of responsibility (Marketing Dept, and others). We are looking for someone who has attention to detail and a basic understanding of accounting principles, but can also take a step back and understand how the accounting impacts the overall financial results now and in the future. Primary Systems/Tools used: Excel, Oracle, Hyperion. Others: Salesforce, Power BI. This role is a hybrid role based in Minneapolis/St. Paul area with in-office expectations of 2 times per week. Office is in downtown Minneapolis. Duties and Responsibilities: Accounting responsibilities: Journal entries, M/E accruals (Marketing, contract labor, various reclasses, etc.) using Oracle Balance sheet account reconciliations, including Cash accounts using an automated matching processes Attention to detail and a basic understanding of accounting principles is important FP&A responsibilities: Work with business leaders and others to build quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for assigned cost centers using Hyperion Ongoing maintenance of assigned cost centers, including headcount roster details and other non-labor spend Monthly variance analysis of actuals vs forecast/budget for assigned cost centers Lead monthly meetings with business leaders for assigned cost centers, to review department performance against forecast/budget Work with confidential salary information Contribute to monthly processes, including long range planning, monthly budget and forecasting; Provide FP&A support and financial analysis across functional organizations; Assist in developing the forecasting models for various departments; Prepare accurate, timely and monthly, quarterly, and annual variance reporting to departments; Document and/or building simulations and perform analyses; Run simulations on various "what-if" scenarios using insight and critical thinking to evaluate and recommend solutions; - Articulate findings on a regular basis to management; Provide FP&A ad hoc analyses as needed; Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement; Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company. Job Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an analytic/data analysis; Public accounting experience preferred; Track record of supporting large departments (400+ employees); Ability to partner with internal customers effectively; AdvancedExcel skills required; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail; Ability to create models that provide "what if" capabiliti s; Understanding of US GAAP, quarterly earnings process and public company audit; and Must be very detail oriented and self-motivated, as this position generally requires employees to work independently. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time); Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force; Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions; Subject to inside environmental conditions; and Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
