Job Description

The Finance Risk Executive is a member of the leadership team overseeing risk and risk-related governance within Finance. They will report to the Finance Chief Risk Officer.

The Finance Risk Executive will provide oversight of our Finance organization’s risk-taking activities and ensures adherence to the Company’s Risk Management Framework, including the Risk Appetite and Risk Scorecard and to all risk related and departmental policies, processes, and procedures. They will oversee the ongoing identification and assessment of the business line’s material risks and key controls. This includes internal and external events as well as potential scenarios that could adversely impact the Company and the business line. Additionally, they will lead activities to monitor ongoing compliance with Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite requirements which include the involvement in strategic planning, new business activities, and other key business decision-making.

This visible leader is responsible for the identification and escalation of material risks and control deficiencies to the appropriate parties, including instances where risks are not aligned with Risk Appetite as well as significant instances of non-compliance with policy requirements. Additionally, they will ensure that appropriate actions are taken to evaluate root cause for adverse events, and to drive corrective actions to strengthen risk management practices or reduce risk in their line of business. The Finance Risk Executive will also ensures adherence to programs that are established to attract, develop, and retain the talent and staffing levels necessary to support the Company’s Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite.

Preferred Skills

• Experience interacting regularly the lines of business, executive management and banking regulators, and possess expert relationship and negotiation skills.

• Expert skill in managing stressful situations. This role has an expert understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls. Exceptionally strong skills in leadership and management of process, projects, and people.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Exceptionally strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, planning and implementation skills and negotiation skills.

• Strong PC literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations is required.

• Incumbent has an advanced degree or equivalent work experience, applicable professional certifications, and applicable experience.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $145,180.00 - $170,800.00 - $187,880.00
