Wells Fargo Finance Associate in MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Finance Associate in Personal and Real Property tax compliance.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in researching financial data and reporting the findings within the functional area.

  • Work in collecting internal financial data, analyze and test for accuracy.

  • Review tactical issues, policies or procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained, related to risks and deliverables.

  • Receive direction from supervisor to support operational aspects of work that may include maintaining ledger accounts to ensure accurate maintenance of financial data.

  • Exercise independent judgment while preparing data for research on product lines and strategic plans.

  • Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported area.

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

  • Work with peers to manage all aspects of enterprise wide Personal and Real Property tax compliance. Including but not limited to: -Research/review documentation (lease contracts, amendments, etc.) to determine property tax payment responsibility, appeal rights, and other property tax related information. -Research and provide documentation on property tax related questions. -Provide proof of property tax payments as requested.

  • Generating reports to support filing of property tax returns, including providing reports listing owned and leased Corporate Property locations to 3rd party service providers.

  • Distribution of incoming US mail and email received directly by tax consultants, corporate properties groups and various Wells Fargo Lines of Businesses (retail stores and administrative buildings) to the appropriate departments. Documents received include tax statements, invoices, legal documents, property appraisals, etc.

  • Perform daily and monthly review and perform reconciliation of invoices related to Real and Personal Property Tax assessments, and Sales/Use Tax processed in SAP.

  • Perform research on Sales and Use Tax related charges.

  • Archive CPG Real and Personal Property Tax related documents, as appropriate.

  • Monitor CPG Property Tax Inbox for incoming Real and Personal Property Tax notices from Tax Jurisdictions.

  • Review and process invoices for annual Real and Personal Property Tax filings and Real Property Tax appeals.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of leasing and property tax documentation (lease contracts, amendments, proof of property tax payments, etc.) to determine property tax payment responsibility, appeal rights, and other property tax related information.

  • Experience using SAP, Oracle (Peoplesoft Financial), Property Point, TTR/Avalara, Corrigo.

  • Intermediate MS Office skills, including Outlook and Excel (working knowledge of Pivot Tables).

  • Accounting/Finance experience to include working with general ledger or accrual accounting and/or AP experience.

  • Experience working in deadline driven environment in order to meet requirements of different tax jurisdiction's.

  • Advanced communications skills, both written and oral.
