Actalent Electrical Engineering Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota

We are seeking an experienced electrical/electronic technician to join our Engineering Lab. This position will support complex products and support equipment including design, development, fabrication, assembly, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, rework, and repair.
Responsibilities
Proficiently use electronic test equipment, machine tools, and hand tools.
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches.
Fabricate, assemble, test, and inspect per engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Conduct testing and generate report data.
Perform calibration and alignment checks.
Make equipment adjustments, modifications, reworks, and repairs.
Work effectively as part of a group or team.
Assemble electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
Rework and repair circuit boards containing surface mount and through-hole components.
Fabricate mechanical and electrical parts from sketches/drawings and prepare samples for testing.
Operate equipment necessary to fulfill these duties.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in prototype builds.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in small electronic assemblies that go into larger subassemblies.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in soldering/building cables.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience working in an engineering product development, test, or production environment.
Proficiency in electronics, troubleshooting, hardware repair, prototype assembly, and soldering.
Experience with electrical, PCB, test equipment, oscilloscope, schematic, blueprint, and electro-mechanical systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in using complex fabrication equipment.
Ability to fabricate and assemble to precise tolerances and standards.
Understanding of complex engineering drawings and information.
Experience assisting engineers in the design and development of new systems and equipment.
Ability to develop and prepare schematics, design specifications, and parts lists.
Experience reviewing designs, specifications of test equipment, or tools for adequacy.
Ability to conduct tests or experiments and perform troubleshooting of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Proficiency in creating test procedures, conducting tests, recording data, analyzing data, and writing reports.
Knowledge of manufacturing & quality requirements of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-610.
Work Environment
This position is based in an engineering lab environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
