Bio-Techne EHS Specialist in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the safety records, programs, and implementation of safety policies at our Minneapolis, MN site. Employee must be detailed orientated and able to work within a team and with other employees of Bio-Techne. They will be expected to:
Update and maintain training records
Create and update Safety Datasheets and related hazard reports
Manage hazardous waste program
Create and implement safety policies
Create safety performance reports for management to review
Participate in the safety committee
Update a chemical database
Respond to spills
Duties/Responsibilities:
Update and generate Safety Datasheets and hazard labels
Perform Job Hazard Analyses
Act as a point of contact for that provide safety equipment and services
Perform weekly hazardous waste water and environment inspections
Create and maintain waste profiles, sign, and maintain hazardous waste manifests
File reports with government regulatory agencies
Obtain required permits for the site
Perform safety inspections
Create safety performance reports for management to review
Participate in the safety committee
Reimplement employee safety trainings
Overseeing Site inspections
Vendor management
Investigate workplace incidents and adverse events
Participate in the medical response team providing CPR/First aid
Assist in new hire training
Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience in a related field
2-5 year of relevant experience
Ability to work with all levels of the organization
Accident investigation experience
Root cause analysis
Ability to read the Code of Federal Regulations
Experience with Microsoft Office
Ability to wear a respirator
Ability to work standing 8hrs and lift 50lbs
Desired:
OSHA 30
Hazwoper 24
USDOT Hazmat or IATA certification
First aid/CPR certificate (NSC or American Red Cross)
Previous lab experience
Previous experience with REACH and ROHS
ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
Quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills
Basic understanding of environmental, health, and safety principles and practices
Organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to prioritize.
Ability to communicate effectively; oral and written
Ability to speak in multiple languages is a plus
