The mission of the DWELL Laboratory is to transform the role of rehabilitation in health promotion among adults with acquired neurological disabilities, such as stroke. We aim to accomplish this by partnering with members of the rehabilitation and disability communities to design and test innovative interventions that leverage personally meaningful activities to promote health. Our current research is funded by the NIH National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. This research aims to adapt a behavioral activation-based intervention designed to reduce post-stroke sedentary behavior for telehealth delivery, and then test the feasibility and effects of the adapted intervention through a pilot randomized clinical trial. The research occupational therapist will be trained to deliver the telehealth intervention adhering to the intervention protocol using synchronous videoconferencing. They are also responsible for providing clear and timely study documentation and for applying good clinical judgment during study interactions. The candidate should be committed to advancing health equity in partnership with adults with acquired disabilities and should be comfortable working within an interdisciplinary team with different levels of experience (undergraduate students through senior faculty), and possess excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills. This position is based on campus. Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department.
