These worldwide unique magnets have combined more than 8000 liters of helium stored and a possible failure or accidental quench associated with the outdated monitoring equipment has the potential to be catastrophic for CMRR. It is an urgent priority of the CMRR engineering group to develop/test and eventually implement a state-of-the-art reliable monitoring computer and the related software capable to eventually replace the current outdated technology. Core engineering aims of CMRR's main center support Grant P41 requires a dedicated support engineer particular for: * The development and implementation of the next generation COSI EM field monitoring system including E-Field probes capable of measuring of phase and amplitude. * The required strong and persistent engineering support for the development of next generation 7T and 10.5T multinuclear body array technology. * The design and engineering support of next the generation 400MHz and 700MHz small animal and marmoset coils arrays. Responsibilities * Develop, fabricate, test and maintain new components required to improve monitoring of the CMRR's Ultra High Field Magnets. (30%). * Support core engineering aims of the CMRR's main Nation Research Center P41 NIH Grant (30%) * Become familiar with all RF Safety Lab equipment and built and develop all equipment required for RF coil power and safety testing. Support engineer responsible to perform EM field measurements using the COSI system and all coil safety testing. (20%) * Assist with cryogen system maintenance and filling on high field MRI systems and cryogen recovery systems (5%) * Assist with weekly 10.5T UHF Magnet and RF Coil QA tests (5%) * Assist in design, simulation, and fabrication of hardware for engineering efforts. (5%) * Assist in maintaining core engineering infrastructure (e.g., 3D printers, tools, test equipment). (5%) Qualifications All required qualifications must be documented on application materials. Required Qualifications: * BA/BS degree (in an engineering discipline, preferably in electrical engineering) or a combination of related engineering education and work experience to equal at least four years. * Experience with COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software. Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated skills and mastery of the Grafana Helium Magnet Monitoring program. * Experience with basic RF circuitry and antenna arrays. * Practical experience with RF Network Analyzers use and 400MHz and 700 MHz RF pre-clinical coil design and testing. * Experience with SOLIDWORKS and other 3D CAD software is a bonus.
