This position requires overseeing and managing courses in the Predoctoral Periodontology clinic as well as teaching in courses. The role involves supervising other teaching faculty, managing clinic resources, and demonstrating expertise in dental hygiene and periodontology to educate future dental practitioners. Responsibilities include didactic teaching (co-teaching), clinical teaching, clinical administration and management, faculty calibration, and facilitation of DDS student learning with Canvas course management. This teaching position is a co-teaching academic and co-course director position with the potential to become course director in the Division of Periodontology. Responsibilities Include: Clinical Teaching - 75% Student management (facilitation of learning) and evaluation Axium proficiency and coordination with Dental IT administrative support Co-course directing with the option to course direct in the future Co-management and didactic teaching - 20% Student management (facilitation of learning) and evaluation Faculty calibration Canvas course management Other duties as assigned - 5% Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene of Related Field Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program Eligible for MN Dental Hygiene License by date of hire Minimum 3 years clinical experience working as a dental hygienist in a dental practice setting. Minimum 3 years teaching experience in an accredited DH or DDS program. Evidence of dependability, accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of faculty, staff, and students; including written, in person, and phone communication. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree preferred. Previous teaching experience in clinical teaching and in didactic teaching of DH/Periodontology.
