We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Benefits Coordinator position in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Job Title: Benefits Coordinator (LOA and Payroll)
Job Summary: The Benefits Coordinator will manage employee benefits programs, including Leave of Absence (LOA) and payroll-related responsibilities. This role ensures that employees receive accurate and timely benefits administration, leaves of absence management, and payroll processing in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. The coordinator will serve as the main point of contact for benefits inquiries, leave requests, and payroll issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Leave of Absence (LOA) Administration:
Process employee requests for leaves of absence (FMLA, medical, personal, disability, etc.).
Manage communication with employees regarding their LOA status, including documentation and approvals.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company policies concerning leaves.
Maintain accurate records of all LOA-related data and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
Work closely with HR, management, and employees to ensure smooth transitions during leave periods.
Benefits Administration:
Assist employees in selecting and managing benefits (health, dental, vision, life insurance, etc.).
Process enrollments, changes, and terminations of benefits during open enrollment periods and throughout the year.
Provide support in benefits-related inquiries and issues.
Ensure that all benefits information is updated in the system and complies with legal requirements.
Payroll Processing:
Assist with the preparation and processing of accurate and timely payroll.
Ensure proper deductions, including taxes, benefits, and LOA-related pay adjustments.
Monitor and update employee timekeeping data and leave balances to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Address payroll inquiries from employees and resolve issues as they arise.
Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
Compliance & Reporting:
Maintain and ensure confidentiality of all employee records related to benefits and payroll.
Stay updated on federal, state, and local laws regarding benefits, LOA, and payroll to ensure compliance.
Assist in generating and reviewing reports for management related to benefits, payroll, and LOA statistics.
General Administration:
Provide administrative support for benefit programs, including vendor communications and invoicing.
Assist with audits and year-end reporting for benefits and payroll-related data.
Support the HR department with various initiatives and employee engagement activities related to benefits and wellness programs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in benefits administration, payroll, and/or LOA coordination.
Strong knowledge of leave laws (FMLA, ADA, etc.), benefits programs, and payroll processes.
High attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP).
Certification in benefits or payroll (e.g., Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
