U.S. Bank National Association is seeking the position of Application Architect (multiple positions) in Minneapolis, MN to provide high-level architectural guidance, aligning architecture to business requirements, ensuring the implementation of best practices and design patterns and by shaping a strong engineering culture. Work across the organization to foster a culture of architecture that allows for iterative, autonomous development and future scaling. Guide teams in the organization in anticipation of future use cases and help them make design decisions that minimize the cost of future changes. Set the direction of the architectural roadmap. Determine the Return-on-Investment for specific engineering initiatives and determine appropriate levels of investment for given strategic horizons. Establish engineering strategic objectives that drive architecture and technical approach. Work to keep skills up-to-date to aid in decision-making, coaching and facilitation. Ensure expectations across the organization and external stakeholders are clarified between all parties involved. Identify dependencies across the organization and work with individual teams to resolve them before they become an issue and install preventative measures to mitigate repeat occurrences. Work across the organization to foster a culture of priority setting and urgency in alignment with organizational strategy. Coach the team on making trade-offs, prioritization and managing technical debt. Identify and manage technical and business risk. Position requires a Bachelor s degree (Employer will accept a 3 or 4-year degree) in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or any related field of study, and 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, Architect, or related occupation. Position requires experience with the following: (1) Collections and Recovery area; (2) Informatica ETL and SQL Database skills including Procedure, Functions, and Packages; (3) Mircroservices architecture; (4) Performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices in an agile environment; (5) Working with business and other technology architects; (6) Build integration patterns and architectural vision/blue prints for Collections and Recovery area; and (7) Legacy data conversion & data integration architecture design across multiple internal/external applications.
