Responsibilities Learn from the best. Potential job functions based on internship type may include: Championing Mortenson's zero injury safety requirements Handling shop drawings, submittals, and the request for information (RFI) processes Partnering in construction sequencing and schedule maintenance Collaborating with team in preconstruction and pre-installation meetings Utilizing industry-leading technology and software to assist in construction processes Consulting with subcontractors and material suppliers Participating in architect and owner interaction Drafting 3D models using Revit, Sketchup, AutoCAD and others Works with the BD team and create visuals that supports our proposals Capture site conditions using Reality Capture devices Train other team members to use 3D model viewing software Create drawings for the craft team members to use in the field Project Assignment: Get ready to go places and jump-start your career through our distinguished national internship program. You will have the opportunity to join the Integrated Construction Team with our Minneapolis Operating Group based out of our Golden Valley, Minnesota headquarters. Additional Information: You will join an exciting and ever-changing industry with a part-time internship during the academic school year and a minimum 12-week full-time internship with our team during Summer (May - August 2025). Placement with one of our teams will be provided based on the overall needs of the organization. We look forward to hearing from you if you: Currently working towards an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field Were selected as a recipient of the Mortenson Pathway Scholarship Are willing to be mobile/relocate Have access to reliable transportation Possess a current driver's license Are comfortable with exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and a trailer office environment Preferred Qualifications: Are you adaptable and an agile learner? You are perfect for this opportunity if you: Have previous related internship experience Have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 / 4.0 Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore or junior Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively handle multiple tasks Possess the right to work in the U.S. t at is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer Have a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills and show initiative Showcase a positive and professional attitude and solid customer service skills The hourly wage for college Interns starts at $19.50. Students in their sophomore year of college, or more, are paid higher wages based on their year in school. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
