Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst - Education - NYU Langone Long Island, School of Medicine - Mineola. In this role, the successful candidate assists with comprehensive data collection and analysis that integrates the institutional goals and initiatives addressing the overall operations of the medical education program. Responsible for preparing large quantities of data into integrated, easily visualized, accurate and timely reports for the institution and OME program levels. Also responsible for assisting with the maintenance and support of various OME tools. Expertises including data analytics with regard to medical education program operations.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Creates, implements, and integrates multiple data sources including, where possible, optimizing for mobile device technology (including Sharepoint, Educational Data Warehouse (EDW) and workplace assessment tools) and centralization of OME assessments.
    • Assists in the development and maintenance of a OME database.
    • Manages user access to OME software systems (i.e. Sharepoint, Tableau, etc) and online resources.
    • Monitors use of information technology and educational resources.
    • Works in interdisciplinary groups to meet OME data gathering and tracking needs.
    • Prepares spreadsheets, tables and graphs from multiple data sources, and prepares reports and communicate with interdisciplinary teams.
    • Tracks, visualizes reports using Tableau or other software for medical education program engagement in institutional initiatives
    • Assists with the development and maintenance of OME dashboards, communications to end users, and reports using Tableau visualization software.
    • Provides analysis of OME outcomes using multiple data sources to demonstrate compliance with accreditation, regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements. Examples include, but are not limited to: LCME reporting, OME projects
    • Coordinates and maintains electronic data feeds between various data sources
    • Supports key managers in analyzing and reporting data from the Sharepoint software and other sources.
    • Facilitates OME Program access to institutional protocols and practice guidelines and on-line resources
    • Supports research on OME data sources. Provides raw data on healthcare disparities and uses existing dashboards to study outcomes and institutional initiatives to improve house staff engagement in quality and safety for the purpose of education and academic research.
    • Provides user support for OME systems (e.g., Sharepoint, Tableau)

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in data science, information science, business administration, health care administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
1-3 Years progressively responsible experience in education or healthcare, quality improvement, preferably in the academic setting.
Strong project development / management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
Proficient in Tableau Desktop
Strong ability in teaching others how to optimize their use of computer programs, including Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers and Tableau dashboards.
Strong interpersonal communications skills, ability to work across disciplines in collaborative environment.
Should able to work efficiently, and accurately, and be able to prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:
Interested in developing statistical analysis capability
Microsoft SharePoint
Skilled in, or interested in learning, SQL database query language
Skilled in, or interested in learning, Python or other scripting language

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $93,307.59 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
