Description

The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing a portfolio of delinquent accounts, ensuring timely payments, and resolving outstanding balances through effective communication and negotiation. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle complex accounts, manage multiple priorities, and maintain positive client relationships. This is a 3-month contract position in Milwaukie!

Key Responsibilities:

• Contact clients via phone, email, and written correspondence to collect overdue payments and reduce accounts receivable.

• Develop and implement strategies for resolving delinquent accounts, including negotiating payment plans and settlements.

• Maintain accurate records of all communications, payment arrangements, and account statuses.

• Collaborate with the finance and customer service teams to address billing discrepancies and customer concerns.

• Monitor and manage a portfolio of accounts to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.

• Escalate complex or high-risk accounts to management when necessary.

• Prepare reports on collection activities and account statuses for internal review.

• Stay updated on industry regulations and company policies regarding collections.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or credit management.

• Proven ability to negotiate and resolve payment issues professionally and effectively.

• Strong understanding of financial principles and practices related to collections and receivables.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and collections software.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of industry regulations (e.g., Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) is a plus.
