Description

Jana Chapman with Robert Half is inviting applications for the role of Assistant Controller in the Wholesale Distribution industry, based in MILWAUKIE, Oregon, 97222-4628, United States. The chosen candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting staff, managing the general ledger, and various financial reporting for multiple companies and business operating units. The role also includes inventory control and division support.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the recruitment, training, task assignment, feedback provision, and performance review of the accounting staff

• Manage the general ledger and related managerial reporting for multiple companies and business operating units

• Ensure the timely and accurate recording of all transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements

• Oversee the day-to-day cash management and preparation of borrowing certificates

• Supervise the preparation of bank borrowing certificates, covenant compliance, trader draw coverage, budgets, and variance reports

• Develop and maintain corporate policies and procedures for inventory control

• Supervise record maintenance and data cleansing, as well as schedule and review inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventories

• Work with division presidents, business managers, and the I.T. department to support trader reviews

• Develop and implement adequate financial controls, including the segregation of duties

• Provide support for the company’s annual audit by its outside accounting firm

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 7 years' experience in a similar role within the Wholesale Distribution industry.

• Proficient in the use of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Demonstrated experience in auditing processes and procedures.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of budget processes.

• Must hold a current CPA License.

• Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite.

• Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects.
