NORTHWESTERN MUTUAL LIFE INSURANCE Senior Data Engineer in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Senior Data Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will serve as primary quality assurance (QA) team member and assist and support Project Development Team with best QA solutions for all testing deliverables. Act as first line of support for all production checkouts after production deployment. Act as single point of contact for all QA technical issues and roadblocks during testing phase. Support and liaise with all QA members, both on and off site. Review and audit all QA deliverables for each phase. Establish and maintain standard of work for QA team. Create and enhance standardized QA process. Implement Xray and EDM in scrum Jira Board. Work with leads on enhancing QA Dashboards requirements. Create and review QA process improvement activities with QA leadership team and across organization. Apply engineering best practices to analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support software solutions. Develop software using continuous deployment and integration practices. Participate in Agile implementation and maintenance of source control and release procedures. Review all aspects of testing including scenarios, cases, practices, and results to provide feedback to team. Identify data quality issues and assist team to provide timely root cause analysis. Perform data profiling and analysis of source data to improve and maintain high development quality. Propose and design data audits to ensure data integrity and confirm processes are working as intended. Support non-production on call weeks. Telecommuting permitted. Requires a Bachelor\'s degree in Applied Computer Science or related field plus 6 years of experience as a data engineer or related occupation. 6 years of experience must include 3 years with each of the following: (1) performing data integration quality assurance; (2) Informatica; (3) Oracle; (4) Unix; (5) AWS; (6) DataBricks; (7) Python, JVM (Java, Scala), Apache Spark, and SQL; (8) Agile methodologies and DevOps environment; and (9) data integration patterns and tooling including ELT/ETL, EII, Replication, Event Streaming, and Virtualization to support batch and real-time data needs.
