JOB REQUIREMENTS: Safety Manager, Construction Milwaukee, WI, USA Req #433 Monday, December 9, 2024 With offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm that primarily serves the private sector. Pepper Construction provides clients the experience and resources of a national company, combined with the hands-on approach of a local company. Promote and ensure effective safety operations by conducting safety inspections, leading investigations, delivering training, communicating incident prevention, and achieving company safety goals. Support daily field operations, working directly with construction crews and subcontractors, ensuring that projects are completed safely. Promote, lead and develop safety culture. Duties And Responsibilities Collaborates with the project management team to develop site-specific safety programs and activities Build and cultivate working relationships with employees throughout the organization Manage a zero-injury safety culture on each assigned project Conduct regular documented jobsite safety inspections and audits Identify project trends and execute proactive safety initiatives to eliminate incidents Assist with incident investigations on projects and act as a resource to our project teams Plan and coordinate an overall occupation safety and health program for employees. Identifies conditions that create hazards for workers and the public. Works with the project team to eliminate unsafe conditions and behaviors. Record, monitor, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements Review prequalification requirements and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with subcontractors Monitor and review trade partner work plans and activities for safety concerns Coordinates and implements safety trainings and employee onboarding. Acts as a liaison between management and field employees on health and safety items. Assures compliance with company safety policies and OSHA safety standards. Represent Wisconsin on the Pepper Safety Council. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Bachelor\'s degree in health and safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field 5-7 years of construction experience can substitute the bachelor\'s degree requirement Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals Solid work ethic, sense of humor, and willingness to travel by vehicle in Wisconsin.
