JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Overview The Opus College of Engineering seeks a dynamic and innovative research faculty member to join the Engineering Education Program. This position will play a crucial role in developing and implementing cutting-edge engineering education strategies, fostering community engagement, and promoting diversity and inclusivity in the field. Duties and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Curriculum and Program Development: In collaboration with college leadership, develop and implement a master\'s and Ph.D. degree program in engineering education. Conduct engineering education research, including supervision and mentoring of graduate students in engineering education and submission of grants for external funding. Collaborate with various departments within the Opus College to identify curriculum needs and teaching strategies for student success. Facilitate projects that integrate engineering and technology applications to address identified community challenges. Student Support and Engagement: Enhance the overall student experience through learner-centered pedagogical approaches and student development theories. Collaborate on research projects focused on student success. Assist with support and mentoring of Engineering Scholars Support the creation of an immersive summer academic experience for underrepresented minority (URM) college students. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Support, organize, and expand collaborations with Marquette\'s College of Business Administration, the College of Education, the Diederich College of Communication, and the Department of Computer Science. Contribute to the development of a multidisciplinary major that prepares students for future challenges. Faculty Development and Community of Practice: Lead workshops and classroom visits to educate faculty on learner-centered pedagogy and other student development theory and counseling psychology teaching approaches. Manage and organize a community of practice focused on contemporary pedagogical practices in engineering.
