Job Summary
Working with others in L&S Administration, the Director of Curriculum & Governance supports the Dean directly with College-wide curriculum management, class scheduling, and administrative oversight of the governance committees of the College, all crucial components to the daily academic life of Letters and Science.
The role works heavily with L&S advising to develop a cohesive academic path for our students as they navigate our programs, making sure there is clarity in our majors and that proper procedure is followed for any and all changes to the curriculum.
The Director’s duties consist of:
Curriculum development support for the College.
Service as the College curriculum and governance specialist, supporting the Dean, department Chairs, and program Coordinators.
Organizing, training, networking, and other support for faculty (major, minor, certificate) advisors in relation to curriculum and advising.
Broadly coordinating and collaborating with other L&S administrative teams on curriculum management, advising, the schedule of classes, data reporting, and budget.
Supervising record keeping in relation to L&S program review and departmental minutes.
Supervising preparation of the Timetable (Schedule of Classes) and undergraduate catalog.
Leading a current team of two employees.
The Dean will appoint the Director to be the Secretary of the L&S Faculty; as such their duties include
Supervising preparation of agendas and minutes for L&S APCC , L&S APGC and L&S Faculty Council.
Ensuring L&S standing committees and the L&S Parliamentarian are elected/appointed
chairing L&S Faculty Council meetings
Minimum Qualifications
Tenured member of the College of Letters and Science Faculty.
Preferred Qualifications
Have served on College and/or campus governance committees, such as APCC or APGC .
Experience with department-level curriculum committees or initiatives.
Experience with the schedule of classes at the department level.
Experience supervising staff.
Target Salary Range $50,000 - $65,000
