JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Overview This position acts as a confidential assistant to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, providing support for a range of tasks relating to the academic programming within the School of Dentistry. Duties and Responsibilities Draft routine and confidential letters for students Maintain accurate course information with the Registrar for all predoctoral courses Review and update the dental bulletin annually Review and revise student handbook annually Create and disseminate semesterly course schedules and exam schedules Organize APC meetings and take minutes throughout the year Organize, attend, and take minutes at Curriculum Committee meetings Organize meetings related to academic progress matters (hearings, ad-hoc meetings, appeals, etc.) Assist in tasks related to reaccreditation Build and maintain course schedules Administer faculty access to D2L Mange book adoptions in Bookmarq each semester Maintain and update digital and hard copy student files Maintain copies of up-to-date policies, syllabi templates, current course syllabi, and other shared documents on SharePoint Coordinate PASS process for graduate resident applications Complete routine forms for licensure, enrollment verifications, etc. Ensure prompt and courteous responses to student, staff, and faculty communications Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High school diploma Two years of related experience is required, preferably in an academic or legal setting, or equivalent. Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including an understanding of how to communicate clearly and effectively with a professional student audience. Computer fluency, including in-depth experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and a general ability and eagerness to learn new software and database systems. Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality in a variety of settings and the ability to maintain confidentiality of information at all times. Highly detail oriented and organized. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor\'s degree Professionalism, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor; a good attitude above all A student-focused sensibility; the desire to support students as they pursue a professional degree.
